What is a virtual host?

A virtual host appears as a host computer at a domain but there is no physicality.

What is a forwarding email?

At its simplest email sent to one email address is forwarded to another email address.

Email sent to an editHere.com hosted domain name will be forwarded to the email address of the editHere.com member who created the editHere.com hosted website.

Lets look at an example. Nina has a domain name hosted at editHere.com called "ninasPets.org". When she created her website she used her personal email address, nina@myIsp.com. Nina invites people to send her email at petMaster@ninasPets.org. Jasper decides to send an email to Nina and he sends it to Nina's petMaster@ninasPets.org email address. Nina receives an email from Jasper at her nina@myIsp.com email address.

Lets take the above example one step further. Nina has a friend Sam who is going to write a pet care tips column. Sam's email address is sam@clatter.com. Nina and Sam invite people to email pet care tips to petCareTips@ninasPets.org. By default email sent to the ninasPets.org domain will be forwarded to Nina at nina@myIsp.com. Nina would rather that emails intended for Sam go to him without her having to intervene.
